PERUSAHAAN kosmetik terkemuka di dunia L'Oreal telah mendapat pengakuan dari Ethisphere Institute sebagai salah satu dari "Perusahaan–perusahaan Paling Beretika di Dunia" pada 2010. Hasil ini diperoleh dari sekian banyak nominasi yang berasal dari ribuan perusahaan lebih dari 100 negara dan 36 industri.

Komitmen L'Oreal terhadap etika dan prestasi kembali diakui oleh Ethisphere Institute, sebuah organisasi yang didedikasikan bagi penciptaan, kemajuan, dan sharing tentang praktik-praktik yang baik dalam etika bisnis, hak asasi manusia, tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan, antikorupsi, dan kelangsungan dalam sebuah perusahaan.

Persaingan Bisnis Picu Media Abaikan Etika

JAKARTA - Ketatnya persaingan di bisnis memungkinkan para pekerja media melakukan tindakan-tindakan yang dapat dikategorikan dalam pelanggaran etika jurnalistik.

Menurut Pakar Journalism Studies dari Universitas Indonesia Awang Ruswandi, di tengah tajamnya persaingan usaha, etika jurnalistik tetap harus dijunjung tinggi oleh media apa pun. Tapi memang (pelanggaran etika) tidak aneh karena di negara besar seperti Amerika Serikat pun ada skandal," ungkap Awang kepada okezone, Jumat (9/3/2010).

Dia menceritakan kasus wartawan di New York, terkait perang Irak. Wartawan tersebut ditugaskan dalam peliputan ke Irak. Namun ternyata dia tidak meliput ke lapangan, justru hanya sampai ke sebuah hotel lalu mebuat berita fiktif.

Kasus hampir sama juga pernah menimpa seorang wartawan dari Jawa Pos yang melakukan wawancara fiktik. Karena terbukti, akibatnya wartawan tersebut dipecat. Dari kasus tersebut, kata Awang, dapat diambil pelajaran berharga. "Artinya, karena desakan persaingan bisnis dan tuntutan deadline, di mana pun pelanggaran etika jurnalistrik bisa mungkin terjadi," tandasnya.

Media massa baik kecil atau besar akan mudah tergelincir dari nilai-nilai tersebut yang semestinya harus menjadi acuan. "Kasus kecilnya, asas praduka tak bersalah juga berlaku di pratik jurnalistik, tapi terkadang diabaikan karena tuntutan bisnis dan deadline," papar Awang.

Sekadar diketahui, praktik media kembali menjadi sorotan setelah Mabes Polri mengadukan seorang presenter TVOne ke Dewan Pers. Kepala Divisi Humas Polri Irjen Edward Aritonang menjelaskan, Indy diduga merekayasa sang narasumber tersebut agar mengaku sebagai markus. Indy mewawancarai Andris Ronaldi, sang markus, pada 18 Maret 2010.

Dalam wawancara tersebut, Andris mengaku sudah 12 tahun menjadi markus di Mabes Polri.(ram)
